XXL cum panty party
We finally had an exciting Sunday to look forward to. That imported party from London, XXL, was coming to town at Webster Hall on Sunday night. We went to their last party back in May. We had a blast and it was a party scene that we hadn't really been to before. Full of bears, big men, short, tall, hairy, smooth, and all hot. It was refreshing, great music, and fun perfomances.
But for reasons unknown to us, XXL's party last night had a really low turnout. We heard rumors that they hadn't promoted the party well. Perhaps, but I'd been seeing the ads in HX and Next now for weeks. That's really good advertising considering it's a once monthly party. I also saw lots of postcards in the bathroom promoting a night at The Eagle. So I'm a little perplexed why the Eagle wasn't promoting the XXL party. Very odd. But I don't know that for a fact. I'm only going by what I was told, and that was that no one at the Eagle seemed to know anything about XXL. I find this somewhat disturbing. I really feel the bear/leather/whatever/gay community needs to support each other because frankly it's practically non-existent in NYC.
But whatever, we felt great and the music was really really good and we couldn't help but dance. Unfortunately by 1pm with the already low turnout dwindling, we decided to call it quits. The two hosts at the door apologized to us and they offered us free comp tix for the next party. We are so there!
Moving on... Being 1am (don't worry, we both took Monday off) and still feeling great, yes great, we needed an outlet. So we headed to the Eagle to see how their late night Sunday night was. We stuck around for a little while but the crowd was mostly gone and there really wasn't much happening there. However I had several wonderful mini-conversations, it semed like every few minutes, with The Eagle's security man, Mike, who always makes me feel both welcome and safe.
Still feeling great and now yearning for something devious, devilish, exciting, and fun, we grabbed the gay rags and searched for whatever afterhours events might be happening. We really wanted to dance since we still had dancing feet. But as sad as it sounds NYC, the "crossroads of the world", has very little to offer in terms of an afterhours/underground scene, at least lately. So much for NYC being the cultural center of the Universe.
What we settled on was an "Underwear Party" at a place called China 1 at 50 Avenue B. We'd never been but we're intrigued. Only problem was that Robopapi wasn't weairng any underwear, he never does on weekends. So he kept his shorts on. And lucky for me I grabbed some brand new fresh underwears to wear on this night. Nothing worse than going to an underwear party with ratty panties filled with holes and stains. Sorry, that's just nasty.
Once downstairs and unclothed, we encountered a moderate sized crowd, but not huge. I guess it's slim pickin's at 2am on a Sunday night. But just our luck this cute Russian-like guy made a rather bold attempt at Robopapi as soon as we arrived. Suffice it to say we were entertained for the next few hours.
Stay tuned for the next announced XXL party. We'll be there for sure. I hope you will too,
