28 Days (Now or) Later

I found one of the more interesting Google Maps Mash-ups today. If you don't know what a Mash-up is, it's the combining of Google Maps database with some other database and viola, you've got yourself something new, mash-ed up!

This one is called Who Is Sick?

There's no need to register or anything like that. All you do is enter any one or all of 6 symptoms, your ZIP code, and how long ago your illness started. The web app will do the rest. It records your location and how sick you are/were. Now you can view the map and see if your similar symptoms are prevalent in your area.
I did so just this morning, since I was sick at home yesterday with an apparent food poisoning; body aches, head ache, chills, vomiting, but no fever.

Granted the symptoms are all very basic, from gastrointestinal to respiratory ailments. But still, if you have the Flu, you can vaguely chart it and see if you have an outbreak in your area.

It would be interesting to monitor all the time and watch for severe outbreaks, kind of like 28 Days Later.
